My Story
I am Mandy, proud owner of Hotel Schumacher and founder of GUSS ...
... A space to reset.
It started 6 years ago, standing high in the Spanish mountains, freezing, terrified, and out of breath.
It was my first encounter with the Wim Hof method. That first cold plunge shocked my system. I didn’t feel strong or fearless - just shaken. But I did it. And something inside me cracked open.
The Spark.
Years later, surfing became a passion. Long days in the water led me to recovery spaces with saunas, magnesium baths, and cold plunges - places that helped my body heal and my mind slow down.
That’s when I realized:
Heat and cold aren’t just tools, they’re rituals for reconnection.
The Shift.
Then came Denmark - and everything changed. In Copenhagen, I experienced my first Saunagus: a guided sauna ritual of scent, silence, rhythm, and breath.
It wasn’t just a sauna - it was transformation. And in that heat, something clicked.
The Mission.
When I came back to Germany, I looked for that experience again. But there was nothing.
No Saunagus.
No ritual for recovery.
So I decided to build it.
For myself.
And for everyone who feels the same pull - to slow down, to reconnect and to begin again.
